Anne Menke started as a photographer's apprentice in Speyer, Germany, which she finished with a degree in 1987. She moved on and graduated to assist Ross Feltus in Duesseldorf, Germany, until she went out on her own in 1990.
She started doing her first assigments in the same year for clients such as Otto, Wella, L’Oreal, Phillipps Electronics, Elle Magazine, Vogue and Bambini, soon had her own studio in Germany. In 1992 she gave up her studio and moved to Paris. From 1992 to 1996, she worked for clients in France, Germany and Italy such as: Carrefour, Samsung, La Redoute, Galeries Lafayette, Prixunics, Giorgio Armani, Cartier, Vogue Magazine, Elle, Marie-Claire & Vogue Sposa.
She moved to London in 1996 where she based herself for a short period of time, starting to work for English clients as: Liberty, Marks & Spencer, Next, Harrods, Selfridges and Dunhill.
In 1996 she moved to New York where she currently works for clients such as Neiman Marcus, Rebecca Taylor, Aeropostale, Banana Republic, Ralph Lauren, The Children’s Place, Macy’s, J.Crew, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, Siemens, Oasis, Nine West, Maybeline, Aveda, Clarins and magazines like Esquire, W Magazine Glamour US, In Style Magazine, Self, Japanese Vogue, Spanish Vogue, Greek Vogue, American Elle, German Elle, Italian Elle, German Vogue, Marie-Claire, German GQ, British Condé Nast Traveller, American Condé Nast Traveller, Travel & Leisure, L’Officiel & L’Optimum.
Anne Menke’s book project ‘Our New York’ in conjunction with Tommy Hilfiger, all sales were donated directly to the Twin Tower Funds.
But her main focus right now is to raise money for the Costa Verde International School Project - the first green school in Mexico - where she is one of the founding directors.
