Nurtured by the aura of the Third Eye Chakra, the vortex of wisdom that possesses the gift to see both our inner and outer worlds, Le Sixieme Parfum is the sixth fragrance created by Pauline Rochas and Carole Beaupre.  Combining bright vibrancy with smoldering warmth, Le Sixieme Parfum tantalizes the senses to harmonize mind, body and spirit for divine unification of the whole self.

The energy of Ajna, the sixth chakra, allows us to access the inner guidance that springs from the depths of our being. When fully illuminated, both hemispheres of the brain are synchronized, integrating the creativity and synthetic thinking of the right hemisphere with the logical and analytical thought processes of the left hemisphere.   Le Sixieme Parfum opens with an uplifting accord of juicy bergamot, tart lemon and spicy pink pepper,  evolving to an emotional velvet heart of romantic osmanthus absolute, moody orris concrete , and lush jasmin absolute. Ultimately, grounded by a seductive palette of patchouli, labdanum, suede, cedarwood, ambroxan and musk, the multi-sensory transformation is complete and crystalline clarity is achieved.

Rochas and Beaupre chose Luca Maffei, a highly original and very prolific young Italian perfumer, to create Le Sixieme Parfum.  Sharing with Maffei a fascination with raw materials and the mysterious alchemy by which they merge, they were impassioned collaborators with a common goal to design a fragrance  that would stimulate bothphysical and spiritual enlightenment in the wearer.  Maffei has produced work for such celebrated artisanal fragrance houses as Houbigant Paris, Carthusia, Masque Milano, Laboratorio Olfattivo,  Acca Kappa and JUL ET MAD. He believes that “a beautiful perfume is the one that leads to a shock”, and this is his greatest ambition as a perfumer.

Creative Director Marc Atlan designed the fragrance’s packaging, with direction from  Rochas and Beaupre that they wanted the design to be powerful, minimal and unisex. The bottle they chose has delicate curves and clean lines that evoke sensuality. The outer packaging is constructed of heavy matte black paper with a soft touch that is reminiscent of skin, balancing the softness of the bottle inside.
