NATURAL HISTORY

Rubus argutus 

A relative of roses, the 'tall' blackberry grows widely across the Eastern US. The shrubs flower white in the spring and berries appear in the summer. The plants are eaten by insects, birds and mammals; there's evidence humans have been eating blackberries for thousands of years.
